Thanks to turbocharging, 3 cylinder engines can produce adequate power and torque, and some manufacturers are even producing 3 cylinder performance cars, such as the Ford Fiesta ST or BMW i8, which is a 3 cylinder hybrid with more than 350 horsepower.
