Noisiest cars

40 cars with most interior noise at 100 kph. Updated April 2026.

Interior noise is differentiating factor between cheap economy cars and luxury cars. More expensive cars have more sound deadening, more carpeting, more refined engine and even quieter (more expensive) tyres.

Other than small economy cars, there is one more category of car that happens to have lots of cabin noise - high performance track-oriented sports cars and supercars. Some of these are especially loud due to mid-mounted engine configuration without sufficient isolation between engine and passenger compartments.

This list excludes convertibles, due to probability that some were tested with roof down. Mid-engine convertible supercars with soft fabric roofs could potentially be even louder cars you see on top of this list.

Interior noise reading for all cars was measured at 100 kph (62 mph).
