Best weight distribution
Top 40 best weight distribution cars. Updated July 2026.
Weight is one of the most important characteristics of high performance cars, especially ones designed for handling and track use. However, it is not enough to have low weight, if all of it is concentrated on one axle.
Neutral and predictable handling requires even weight distribution between the front and rear axle. This is why manufacturers often include F/R weight distribution in their official spec sheets and advertise "good" weight distribution as indicator of good handling.
"Good" weight distribution is one that is as close as possible to even 50/50 split. Cars with mid-mounted engines typically can achieve it more easily, but it is not unsual for front-engine cars to also achieve this benchmark via placing engine as far back as possible.
This list is dominated by cars that all achieve 50/50 front-rear distribution. The specific placing order between them is not of any significance.
