Most powerful motorcycles
Top 40 most powerful bikes ever made. Updated May 2025.
Progress in motorcycle engines has been dramatic over the past few decades. Precise computer-aided design, manufacturing, material science and improved lubrication have allowed motorcycle engines to reliably operate at very high RPM. Advanced fuel injection and increase in compression ratio has also lifted torque output per each revolution.
Due to lower load and endurance requirements over the lifetime of average motorcycle, these small engines can achieve very high specific output, without compromising service intervals.
Some manufacturers, namely Kawasaki, are even offering supercharged motorcycle engines, producing more than 230 horsepower and enough torque to rival even some small car engines.
Traditional motorcycle manufacturers are also entering the electric vehicle market, where specialist manufacturers have already been experimenting for several years and now are achieving torque and power rivaling best combustion engines.
